This non-contact league is designed to help players develop

and improve their skills in a variety of positions.

The focus will be on proper technique for QB’s, WR’s and DB’s

and every child will have the opportunity to play all of these positions.

League Overview:

  • Eligible players: kids currently in 3rd - 5th grade.

  • No prior football experience is required.

  • Cost of the program:

    •  $40 per player (grades 3-5)

  • Season dates: Sunday evenings only in May & June (excluding Mother's Day and Memorial Day weekend, one Wednesday session on Memorial Day week)

  • All games and practices will be held on Sunday evenings at Lakeville South High School at 6pm.

  • The season ends with a tournament for all players to showcase their talents.

  • During the registration process there is a question that asks if your child plays another spring sport. We ask this so we can create teams that have a mix of kids that do, and do not, play other spring sports.  This helps us ensure that teams will always have enough kids to play a game.  We encourage all kids to sign up even if they already play a spring sport.

General Framework and League Rules:

  • Passing League is not a regimented league with practices during the week and heavy coach involvement.  The intent is to provide a platform for young athletes to have fun and get an opportunity to run, catch and throw the football in a relaxed atmosphere.

  • Depending on the number of participants, Passing League will be 5 on 5, 6 on 6, or 7 on 7.  It is LSFA's goal to provide an outlet for players who like to throw and catch the ball, similar to the touch football games that many of us played in backyards and neighborhood parks when we were young.

  • The Passing League will be divided into divisions depending on participation.  For example, there may be a combined 5th/6th grade division or 4 seperate leagues based on grade.

  • The games will be approximately 45-60 minutes long, we will be playing double headers.

  • Teams will have 8-10 players.

  • Equal playing time for every player is mandatory.

  • Players will receive a mouth guard and game jersey.
